I built Saltmere to show how the rise in sea level might affect coastal cities, and what can be done to cope with the effects. The projections are based on real research (IPCC AR6 projections for the Hoek van Holland tide gauge; tides, weather effects and economy are designed to make the game challenging and fun to play), and there are various strategies one can adopt to try and mitigate the impacts.
