I've been thinking about personal finance tools and where they store data. Cloud tools offer sync and backups. Local-first tools offer privacy and no account. My current view: Financial data feels different. Many people hesitate to link accounts or upload balances. Portability matters. Export to CSV or print reduces "what if I lose it?" anxiety. The tradeoff is real. Local-first means no automatic sync between devices. Where do you land? Would you accept losing sync for privacy.
