About

Sharing a project I've been working on for the last while, MadTracker, a scoring system for track cycling races: Announcement: https://nuxx.net/blog/2026/10/29/madtracker/ GitHub w/ Binary Releases: https://github.com/c0nsumer/madtracker This was built to replace an Excel-based manual scoring system that worked, but was clunky and required specialized knowledge making it hard to hand off to other volunteers at the local velodrome. MadTracker was developed by formalizing scoring rules from the USA Cycling and other club formats to build a scoring engine, then wrapping it in a front end that holds venue info, event info, rider info, race info, and then makes noting who finished in what order easy. The order and such is run through the scoring engine and this produces results that display on a scoreboard (second monitor), export as PDFs, and export as a CVS for upload to a governing body's scoring website. I'm really happy with how this came out. It's super niche, but it fills a local need and makes a slice of a small community better, so I wanted to share it. It's free software, MIT licensed, for macOS / Windows / Linux, doesn't require network connectivity, and aimed at being simple to use while solving the scoring problem.
