Project URL Category JS Project Title A desktop app that turns local videos into SRT subtitles and translates them offline Project Description WhisperSubTranslate is a Windows desktop app for creating subtitles from video audio. It uses whisper.cpp for speech-to-text, supports local Hy-MT2 translation without API keys, and can also use DeepL, OpenAI, Gemini, or MyMemory. Highlights The main idea is local-first subtitle work: video files do not need to be uploaded, and Python setup is not required. It ships as a portable Electron app, downloads speech models on demand, and includes large-v2 Sync / Sync Lite for videos where normal Whisper timestamps drift, especially Japanese, Korean, and Chinese content.
