I made Classic Ads, a Chrome extension that makes Google search ads easier to spot by bringing back their old coloured backgrounds and labels. The idea came after a family member was scammed from a deceptive Google Ad. I need to see ads for my work in SEO, but even I am getting caught out with how indistinguishable they are from organic results nowadays. You can pick from nine styles inspired by Google’s ad designs from 2001 to 2019, including the old blue and yellow backgrounds. It restyles the existing ads, keeping their content and links intact.
