Hey all! For the past months I've been vibe-coding a free Photoshop editor for macOS (Native using Swift and a bit of Rust). It has many features that I've always wanted in such an editor (but was unwilling to pay the Adobe tax). I did try open source solutions such as Gimp but they never worked for me. In terms of features I'm not gonna list all, but I'm very happy it has: - A proper canvas where text and vectors keep their quality when zooming in - Layers (vectors, text, pixels, color adjustment, effects, reference layers, mask layers, layer groups and so on) - Many effects (including unusual things like dithering or NTSC) - All the tools you'd expect (brush, paint, repair, etc) For some of these tools it uses local models - Selection operations via local models (e.g. select all red cars) - Import / Export PSD, SVG and many others. - Support for tracing images to vectors, text to beziers, bezier editing, etc. Most importantly (I think), it has a optional AI integration via a agent harness which lets a model remote-control the app for you to build a document out of layers & effects & brushes etc. This is really powerful because in comparison to typical genai flows this allows you to make changes, hide things and easily scale them up (if most elements are vectors). There's also support for genai operations (e.g. if you want to embed a genai generated SVG or image as a new layer). Would love to get feedback: https://pixellect.app/
